How many songs does a 4gb mp3 player play?

I'm about to buy my very first mp3 player and I'm buying a 4gb one. I was just wondering how many songs it'll play on it's own and how many songs it'll play with a 512mb sd card. Anyone know? I'm kinda new to the whole mp3 player thing so I'm not totally sure how it works. Thanks in advance!

4GBUp to 1,000 songs, up to 3,500 photos, up to 4 hours of video, or some of each.

http://www.apple.com/ipod/whichipod/

Not many. Maybe 500 or 1000 if you're lucky

2,000 i think. i have ipod nano 4 gb

probably around 800 on it's own.... with the card an additional 100

You could probably fit 800-1000, in mp3 format anyway.

i agree with mevsmara up there ^

about 4,000

exactly 960 songs

About a thousand or so, depending on the size [length] of the file itself and if album art comes with it on your player.

probably 400 because its not like an ipod for some reason a 4 gigabite ipod will hold 3 times as much than a 4 gigabite mp3 player.

1000 songs baby

supposably 1000 but id say youd fit around 700-850 tops. depends on song length

I ahev a 4gb and it holds 100mp3 songs.
I barely use that much but ts good to ahev just in case. The 2gb one is only 500mp3 songs and the 1gb, I belive is 100 songs

You can fit about 1,000 4 minute songs into 4 GB, and you can fit about 120 4 minute songs into 512 MB.

Congrats on getting a mp3 player.

Capacity = Gigabyte

Four gigs will hold about 1000 songs. If you add 512 mb card to it, it will play 1100 songs.

You will enjoy your mp3. It's a lot more convenient then a CD player.

Peace

Holds about 1000 songs at 128kbps. If the songs are longer and/or have higher quality, it may be less.

512 is pretty much way too small for mp3 player. You'll probably be listening to the same songs after an hour or two. 4gb should be pretty decent unless you're a music junkie, then maybe you should up to an 8gb.

They advertise them as 1,000, but I'd say like 600-800. Depends on the song length, obvioiusly.

a lot

depending on the length of the songs or videos around 697 if they are around one minute you should get about 1000 if they are around three minuets you should get 500 if you go to the apple store or call them at 1-800-MY-APPLE email me at dordiscott@mac.com if you have any questions.

I currently have about 400 tunes on my 4 gig SanDisk, with a little less than half a gig to spare.
However, I also have a few radio and voice recordings and photos on my MP3, those suck up alot of memory.
I've been able to store as many as 600 tunes, but some were of the Pink Floyd or Modest Mouse length (10 minutes a song)......

What are the sizes of SanDisk Sansa Clip 1GB and 4GB Mp3 player?

I was wondering if the SanDisk Sansa Clip 1gb and 4gb mp3 players were the same size. I can only find the dimensions of the 1gb player.
If the 4gb is bigger, how much bigger is it?

Yes, the 1 and 4GB players are exactly the same size, they just have different amounts of internal memory and are different colors.

i have a sansaclip 2GB, and i was just at WAL-mart today and saw a 4GB, it was bigger.

Where can i get a 4GB MP3 player with charger included?

Im from the UK. Im off travelling around the world and want to buy a 4GB mp3 player that has a charger with it. Most charge through a computer , i need to charge manually cos i wont have a computer on me when i travel.

What can you use for a wall charger with the Insignia 4GB mp3 player?

I just bought the Insignia 4gb mp3 player and I love it. But it didn't come with a wall charger nor did Insignia make one I think. Is it possible to use the iPod wall charger? If not can you use anything else?

You can go to Target or Wal-Mart and purchase a USB wall charger. It allows you to connect to your player through the USB cable that came with it. They're only around $15. The one I bought also has a car charger.

No you can't use the ipod charger. You will burn something up.

How many hours of music can a 4GB mp3 player hold?

I was just wondering how many hours of music a 4gb hold and/or how many songs (on average...) an mp3 player can hold. thanks.

a 4 gig music player can hold about 950 songs based on a 3.4 minute averge

like 4 hours and up to 800 songs..

Please help me with my SanDisk Sansa e260 4GB MP3 Player?

I recently received a SanDisk Sansa e260 4GB MP3 Player and I have no instructions on how to get music up onto it or how to charge it. If someone has one, or knows how to work one. Please help me.

my brother has one like that ( http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(1940)-SDMX4-4096-Sansa_e260_MP3_Player_4GB.aspx ) I think it charges when you plug it in to the computer

do i have to use best buy music service for my insignia 4GB mp3 player?

or can i use a limewire or morpheus account...if i can use morpheus; how do i get the files from my computer to my mp3 player

I have an insignia 4GB mp3 player and picture viewer...please help.

No, you don't need ANY music service.

Limewire should do the trick, same with Morpheus.

Hook your mp3 player up to your computer, and drag and drop your songs right on it. It should read your mp3 player as a seperate drive - clicking on "My Computer" will get you to see where it is, and you can manage it from there.

Haier's HV18A-4G Video MP3 Player Has Some Serious Battery Power Washington Post

The HV18A-4G measures 3.5 by 1.5 by 0.25 inches (about the same size as a fifth-generation iPod Nano ) and has a 1.8-inch, full-color TFT LCD, as well as a nifty touch-panel keypad. With a slick black-and-chrome encasing, the player is fairly attractive (it looks a lot like the first- and second-generation iPod Nanos). Unfortunately, it attracts fingerprints like nothing else; the touch panel, integrated into the casing, is a smudge magnet, too. The power/lock switch is on the side, while the volume buttons, fast-forward/rewind controls, and OK and Menu buttons are on the touch panel. The touch panel is incredibly responsive--so much so, however, that I ended up accidentally brushing it and changing the song as I was reaching over to press the lock button.

Audio through the included earbud headphones is decent, offering good bass and full sound. Though the results are much cleaner on higher-quality headphones (I tried Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones), the bundled earbuds are better than most, and certainly superior to Apple iPod earbuds. The player has an equalizer (the only sound-setting option, as far as I can see) that includes Normal, XBass, Rock, Jazz, Classical, and Pop settings.

Video playback is decent, considering that the screen is just 1.8 inches. The player comes with ArcSoft Media Converter 3 for turning regular video files into the supported .smv format. The ArcSoft program, which took about 25 minutes to convert a 30MB file in my tests, is not compatible with certain codecs, such as Divx and Xvid. The screen resolution is only 128 by 160 pixels, but video playback is smooth and seamless.

The menu is fairly simple and easy to navigate, once you get the hang of it. The only aspect I found unintuitive was that in vertically oriented menus you still have to press the fast-forward/rewind buttons to scroll up and down (because the volume buttons are dedicated only to that function, and don't double as scrolling controls).

You can add music and pictures to the player by dragging and dropping the files in Windows Explorer or by synchronizing through Windows Media Player. Supported formats include MP3, WMA, and OGG for audio, and JPEG and BMP for pictures. You can't sync playlists from Windows Media Player, however.

In addition to the earbuds and the ArcSoft Media Converter 3 software, the HV18A-4G comes with a USB 2.0 cable, plus 35 free eMusic downloads and one free audiobook download (with a 14-day trial subscription to eMusic).

The touch panel is just a bit hypersensitive (luckily, the device has a hold button), but otherwise the affordable Haier HV18A-4G is a decent little MP3 player with great battery life. The main thing that holds this device back is its small capacity--it's available only in 4GB and 8GB versions, neither of which is enough space for most people's music and video libraries.

Hands-on with the Cowon E2 CNET News

Proving that good things come in small packages, the 4GB Cowon E2 MP3 player ($64.99) delivers outstanding, iPod -crushing sound in a space no larger than a key ring. In fact, the big metal ring built into the top of the E2 can literally attach to your key ring. It can't clip, though, so fitness types will need to find a way to get the E2 on a necklace, wrist strap, or carabiner (none are included).

Aside from the lack of a built-in clip, the Cowon E2 further distinguishes itself from the iPod Shuffle by including actual buttons for volume and track skip control. The right edge offers a small square power button along with a rocker switch for track skip control. The same button configuration is mirrored on the left side, only the rocker controls volume and the small button toggles the shuffle mode with a long press and flips through JetEffect EQ presets with short presses.

The buttons are handy compared with the iPod Shuffle's headphone remote, but Cowon didn't exactly go out of its way to distinguish the buttons from one another. Beyond a few faint, gray icons, there's practically no way to tell the buttons on the left side of the E2 from the ones on the right. Without squinting directly at the device, something as simple as a change in volume has a 50 percent chance of turning into a track skip.
